This is a small, quiet, relaxed, no-frills campsite situated in the lower part of a field close to the farmstead and next to a tree-lined brook. There is a cold water tap, recycling bins, some moveable picnic benches, firebowls and plenty of open grass on which to pitch your tent or park your caravan. The toilet and shower are a short walk away next to the farmhouse, and you can wash up in our back kitchen – please ask if you are unsure. The campsite is not divided into pitches so you can choose exactly where you want to be, and for larger groups such as D of E it means you can all be together.
For caravans and campervans please note that there are no electric hook-ups or hard standing on this site, and during wet periods the ground is sometimes too soft to drive on.
We are happy for you to have a campfire but ask that you are responsible when siting it: well away from trees, hedges, crops and tents! Please use one of the fire bowls provided or bring your own – or come and ask for a spade to remove a patch of turf that can then be replaced when you go. This way the campsite doesn’t end up with scorch marks and stones all over it.
We now supply ‘firepacks’ for £7.50, which consist of kindling, small logs and matches – all you need for your evening campfire in one handy bag. Foraging along the hedgerow is fun but not always fruitful!
The campsite is generally open from April to October,
£6.00 per person per night
£3.00 per child (ages 2-14, under 2 are free)
£1 per dog per night
£5 per person for D of E / Scouts (sorry, no showers)
The best description of our campsite by a visitor is “‘just a field!”…but from it you can watch the sun rise over the Wenlock Edge and set over the Stretton Hills, and then you can lie back in the grass and watch the stars in the inky black night sky.
